Located in Monção, in the valley of theGadanha River, Quinta da Torre demonstrates all its potential for the queen grape variety. With alluvial soils and fluvial terraces and altitudes of between 50 and 90 meters, the vineyard shows its diversity through eight plots of the Alvarinho variety. Throughout these plotswe can identify eight different textures of soil, giving rise to unique and singular wines. Exclusive to Quinta da Torre, A Torre comes from the selection of the best grapes from the best plots, which allows for the production of a unique and elegant wine.
Tasting Notes
Complex and delicate aromas. On thenose, citrus notes demonstrate the varietal character of the Alvarinho grape variety. Notes of vanilla and almonds, the oak ageing is delicate and subtle. The acidity and minerality are in harmony, conveying structure and complexity. Fine and elegant, a long and persistent finish.
Vinification
During the morning, the grapes are handpickedinto small boxes and transported to the winery in a short space of time. Very gentle pressing of whole destemmed grapes. Long cold clarification. Fermentation in used 400 litre French oak barrels. Ageing in barrels for 9 months with bâtonnage on total lees.
