Bodegas Montealto was born in 1994, when they began to select vineyards to produce high quality wines. Their perfectionist spirit has led them to continue to innovate and experiment, from the terroir. Convinced that a quality wine is born in the vineyard, they are committed to quality viticulture, respectful of the environment, equipped with the most modern oenological technology, where innovation and tradition come together for the sake of quality.
Vinification
This Reserva is produced with Tempranillo grapes from the oldest vineyards in the winery. The harvest is done manually, the grapes are transported in boxes and selected, after selection they are destemmed and fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, with temperature control and subsequent maceration for 15 days.
Aging
Ageing takes place in French oak barrels for 18 months, aged for another 18 months in the bottle.
Tasting Notes
The colouring reveals itself in shades of garnet cherry, with a high layer that denotes intensity. In the olfactory aspect, the wine is irresistibly attractive, exhibiting remarkable complexity and intensity. Aromas of ripe fruits, licorice and Mediterranean herbs emerge in a striking way, delicately standing out over the influence of the barrel. On the palate, the experience is powerful, fleshy, elegant and expressive. The deft balance with the tannins contributes to a long and structured finish, giving the wine a remarkable elegance until the last drop.
