About this Wine

Tasting Notes

Aroma of red fruits with some notes of spices. Good structure and good balance. Tannins present, persistently and well involved. It also has a good freshness and a persistent finish.

Vinification

Manual harvest in a 20 kg box. Pre-fermentative maceration with fermentation in stainless steel vats with temperature control.

Project located in the demarcated region of Dão, in the sub-region of Serra da Estrela, at an altitude of 400 meters, with its vineyards planted in granitic soils.

It has been in the possession of the Mendes Oliva Family since the end of the eighteenth century, and is in perfect harmony with the Beira landscape. Authentic wines are born from here, respecting the characteristics of this region, proving their quality associated with a classic profile well identified by their uniqueness with personality, character, elegance, freshness and smoothness.

In the red varieties, the choices are Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Jaen, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Pinheira. In the white varieties, the Encruzado and Malvasia Fina varieties are part of the grape varieties chosen at Quinta da Ponte Pedrinha. The grape varieties chosen aim to create wines that stand out for an authenticity that comes from older times, seeking to combine tradition with innovation.
