Tasting Notes
It seeks to be an old-fashioned Dão, with a modern approach. With a lightly loaded colour, fresh and easy to drink like the wines of the past, it is today’s viticulture and oenology that provides the balance, aromatic beauty and intensity of fruit in the mouth.
Vineyards
The vineyards, in a total of fifteen hectares (consisting of 5ha of old vines located in Gouveia and 10ha of vines over 20 years old in Seia) are located in one of the coldest places in the Dão, the foothills of Serra da Estrela, at an altitude of 550 meters, planted in granite soil with the traditional grape varieties of the region.
Vinification
Lot 3 comes from three vineyards located in Gouveia and Seia. It was vinified in stainless steel vats, with gentle extractions. It aged for 12 months in used oak barrels of 225 liters.
