The winemaking vocation of Famiglia Valduga was born in the heart of Vale dos Vinhedos, formerly known as Via Leopoldina, where more than a century ago the first steps of a history made of dedication and prosperity were established. Respecting the terroir and understanding that each grape variety expresses itself in a unique way are the roots that sustain this trajectory. The incessant search for the true identity of each plot of land, combined with a thorough study, always leads us to the best results. Aware that the soul of wine is intrinsically linked to the climate, the soil, the relief and the constant dance of the winds, the Terroir Line was born, designed to value the potential of each varietal, cultivated in the main wine regions of Rio Grande do Sul.
Vinification
After the final selection of the bunches and the destemming of the fresh grapes, a pre-fermentative cold maceration was carried out for 48 hours. Alcoholic fermentation was conducted with selected yeasts Saccharomyces cerevisiae, at controlled temperatures between 24ºC and 25ºC, accompanied by pumping over and debulking over 12 days of skin maceration. Once racking was completed, malolactic fermentation took place. The wine aged for eight months in French oak barrels, followed by tartaric stabilization and bottling. Finally, it remained in a cellar aging for 12 months.
Tasting Notes
It has a ruby, clear and shiny color. In the aroma, the elegant notes of the oak aging stand out, revealing cocoa and vanilla, in perfect harmony with the blackberry and delicate nuances of coffee and a slight minty touch. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with soft and silky tannins, characteristic of the Merlot variety. The moderate acidity gives it balance, while the finish is long and persistent, marked by woody notes and ripe fruit.
