Soil
The soil is mainly calcareous-clayey, tuff, with a good presence of stones and rocks. This type of soil gives the wines great freshness and elegance, essential characteristics for long-lived wines.
Vineyards
The vineyards are located in a slope position, at a variable altitude between 150 and 300 meters above sea level, with exposure to the East and Southeast.
Harvest
Harvesting usually begins during the last ten days of August and continues until the end of September.
Fermentation and Aging
The grapes for this Valpolicella are fresh. The exceptional type of soil and the position on the slope of this vineyard provide the necessary qualities to produce a red wine of great prestige. All the best grapes from this vineyard go to this Valpolicella, rather than being selected for our Amarone. The wine ages in 3000 liter oak barrels for 18 months after fermentation.
Tasting Notes
A wine of extraordinary finesse and elegance. Notes of spices, forest fruits and hints of rose petals characterize the nose. The palate is fresh and complex.
