Quinta da Carregosa created the Novas Rotas wine brand under a new oenological concept that illustrates the entire profile of the wines of the Douro region, presenting a more modern, authentic and expressive character. Novas Rotas shares the scenery of the Douro, in an assumed invitation to discover and explore the region. Brand with a modern, cosmopolitan and lifestyle style.
Vinification
From the best plots of Quinta da Carregosa, the grapes were harvested manually in the plots that showed a more balanced ripeness. After careful selection and manual harvesting, the grapes are subjected to crushing and total destemming. This is followed by a period of 48 hours of skin maceration at 10ºC to maximize the action of the grape enzymes responsible for the extraction of aromas. Cold defecation at 7oC for 48 hours. Selected yeasts are used to induce alcoholic fermentation that takes place between 12ºC and 15ºC for a minimum of 30 days.
