The Monólogo range is made up of monovarietal wines produced from our vineyards, all of them in organic production, and located between 190 and 540m of altitude. The aim of the Monologue is to transmit, each year, the individual expression of each of these varieties and plots. Thus, the intervention in the winery is limited to the accompaniment of a healthy natural fermentation process.
Produced at Quinta de Santa Teresa, with grapes from the P24 plot, this Monólogo is a wine with good structure, delicate aromas and well-integrated acidity .
Tasting Notes
Delicate nose with notes of green fruit and lemon leaf. In the mouth it presents volume and silky character, in a lively and balanced set where notes of wet stone and thyme stand out, in addition to the fruit.
Vinification
Reception of the grapes in the winery in boxes of 24kgs. Manual selection followed by destemming, skin maceration and gentle pneumatic pressing. The wort ferments in stainless steel vats at a low temperature. Stabilization and light filtering. No animal derivatives are used in the process, making this wine suitable for vegan consumers. Special care has been taken in winemaking, minimizing any intervention, with the aim of producing a vineyard that expresses well the particularities of the grapes and the terroir.
Climatic characteristics of the 2022 harvest:
The winter was unusually dry and hot, with November recording temperatures of 20ºC. The lack of rain facilitated vegetative development as well as pruning and cleaning tasks. The low rainfall continued until spring. In March there was a recovery in prcipitation levels, as well as in the second week of April, which, despite heavy rains, did not avoid the situation of moderate drought. A sufficient number of cold hours promoted good budbreak of the vines. In May, the alternation of periods of rain, cold and uncovered sun forced preventive interventions in relation to downy mildew. The summer was quite hot, with periods of intense heat that lasted from June to August. The surgical use of irrigation prevented the water stress of the vines. A cooler month of September, with some rainfall, relieved the water stress of the vines, most of which were already harvested by this time. The harvest of Arinto began on 6 September.
