Several types of soil coexist in this climate. The plot of our Domaine is located in the middle area of the valley. A whitish, limestone clay is predominant in its steepest part, while the west side has browner clay soils.
The wines produced from the vines that grow here are intense, with saline notes and a wonderful creamy mouthfeel. This Grand Cru has the distinction of being approachable and generous, even in its youth.
Tasting Notes
This wine, being rich in complexity, should be aerated or decanted before tasting. Gourmand, the nose of the Grand Cru Vaudésir reveals notes of rhubarb and acacia flower. Fine and elegant on the palate, with aromas of butter, brioche, and a dominant touch of coconut.
Terroir
Kimmeridgian soil with a strong presence of clay, presenting very deep and, in some areas, heavy soils. Northwest exposure, providing cool temperatures and sunlight in the afternoon. Relatively steep slopes.
Vinification
No added yeasts, long fermentation with indigenous yeasts, in temperature-controlled vats. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Aged for at least 18 months. In stainless steel tanks, with as little handling as possible. Moderately cold long stabilization. Stabilization with concrete, if necessary. The wine is gently filtered once before bottling.
