From vines aged between 7 and 22 years, in decomposed granite and Hutton soils, with a yield of 6-7 tonnes/ha. The previous winter had enough rain and cold units. During the harvest period, weather conditions remained favorable, with relatively warm days with no significant heat waves, and cool nighttime temperatures.
Vinification
Fermentation took place in open-top concrete tanks at 28ºC. The berries were mechanically pierced every 2 hours during fermentation. The juice was extracted from the peels after 3 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was left to mature for 12 months in 225L Nevers French oak barrels of 2nd and 3rd filling.
Tasting Notes
Attractive plum color, deep, with fragrant aromas of red currant, black cherry, strawberry confit, nutmeg and wood spices. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, opulent, with finely textured tannins, caramel, glossy cherries and a hint of nutmeg, oak spices and dark chocolate. The acidity is balanced with the fruity and wood components, adding a freshness to the red and black fruit flavors at the end.
