Bon Courage Winery is located between the Breede River and the Langeberg Mountains in Robertson. The Bruwer family produces a variety of wines, from noble whites and classic reds to fortified dessert wines and the elegant, award-winning Cap Classique sparkling wines.
Jacques Bruére – This line is named after the French Huguenot lineage of the Bruwers, the Brueres, originally from the Loire Valley. They are handmade, from start to finish, using the traditional method.
Vinification
The base wine remained on the lees for 8 months, initially during the first fermentation. 10% of the Chardonnay was fermented in barrels. The “bubble magic” begins during the second fermentation in the bottle, prolonging maturation on the lees for 96 months. After “disgorgement” (removal of yeast lees) and “dosing” (addition of base wine and sugar), the final product is sealed with a cork and released.
Disgorgement date: March 2022
Tasting Notes
Fruity style with peach, citrus touches and creaminess. It expresses intensity and delicacy simultaneously. Toasty walnut features with stone fruits, complemented by rich, creamy biscuit flavours. Persistent finish with a vibrant foam. A versatile wine for any occasion, not just “specials”.
