Vinification
Produced with Garnacha Tintorera from centuries-old vines of very low production, about 2200 bottles are bottled per harvest of this special wine. The great typicity of this exceptional grape is marked by the centenary vineyard of “O Rasedo”, with schist soils and very low average yields of 1 kg of grapes per plant. Garnacha Centenaria Ladeira Vella undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks; Malolactic fermentation and maturation for 12 months in 225 liter French oak barrels. Subsequently, it rests in the bottle for another 24 months, where it will reach its maximum expression.
Tasting Notes
Garnacha Centenaria Ladeira Vella, on a visual level, acquires a remarkable structure with maturation, presenting a distinct and glamorous red purple color. On the nose, it offers an elegant and fine character of black stone fruits, blackberry and blueberries. In addition, it reveals a subtle and pleasant touch of lollipop toast and delicate notes of chocolate. In the mouth, it presents itself as a very well structured wine, with remarkable body and great power, where the memories of black fruits and the delicate finesse of toasted notes return. Garnacha Centenaria Ladeira Vella is a wine of great character and with great ageing potential.
