The future of Quinta da Gaivosa’s wines continues to be shaped in its vineyards. The Primeiros Anos represents one of those steps. Recently restructured, a whole set of judicious and innovative technical means was used, but with a deep respect for the teachings of the old vines and a desire to deepen their “terroir” more and more. These are its first fruits. The first promises of what the new vineyards of Gaivosa have in store for us for the future.
Vinification
The grapes were completely destemmed and 8 days of fermentation with temperature control, with 3 days of maceration
Aging
12 months in 2nd and 3rd year French oak barrels
Tasting Notes
A beautiful wine, rich, with notes of tar. Graceful notes of cedar, fresh blueberries and an aromatic Moroccan mint. In the mouth it shows a delicate touch of chocolate with aromas of wild fruits. A robust wine, but with elegance and soft tannins. Very polished, with a very long finish that exudes class and quality.
