Vinification
Made 100% with grapes harvested by hand from Castelão and in a more premature state of ripeness. Fermentation in lagares for 3 days (with little extraction), finishing the fermentation in stainless steel vats. The ageing was 40% in used French oak barrels of 500 liters and the rest in stainless steel, for 14 months.
Tasting Notes
Open ruby colour. Aroma is an elegant combination of some red fruit (strawberries and blackberries) with slight notes of vegetate and tobacco leaf. Surprisingly structured and enveloping yet smooth, with acidity and a persistent finish. It accompanies fish and grilled meats, cooked fish dishes, risotto and oven-roasted meats. Excellent wine for aperitif.
