About this Wine

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand directly into 20 kg boxes, then fully destemmed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats with a controlled temperature of 27oC. Maceration is post-fermentation. Malolactic fermentation is done in stainless steel vats.

Aging

12 months in new French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

Dark ruby colour, characterised by an intense aroma of wild fruits, harmoniously combined with floral notes. Dense and harmonious body. Long and powerful finish.
Ideally serve between 10ºC and 13ºC. It pairs well with beef, chicken and pork.

Quinta da Prelada is located in a unique place in the world, the Douro valley. It is located in Vila Seca de Poiares, a few kilometers from the city of Régua, and is located in the Douro sub-region called Baixo-Corgo. Established in the early seventeenth century and owned by the Magalhães e Silva family, who have kept the tradition of wine production alive for five generations.

Quinta da Prelada's 60 hectares of vineyards are carefully cared for and each grape is harvested by hand at the ideal ripening time. The combination of a favourable climate, harsh winters and hot, dry summers, combined with the family's experience in the art of winemaking, results in distinctive wines that contain both tradition and innovation.

The wines produced at Quinta da Prelada are renowned for their elegance, capturing the unique essence of the Douro terroir.
