Quinta da Boa Esperança was created with the aim of creating a space that reflected a way of thinking and living in harmony with nature. Located in Zibreira, in the western region of Portugal, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Serra de Monte Junto, it belongs to the district of Lisbon, one of the largest wine regions in the country. For more than a hundred years, viticulture and wine production have been practiced on the estate by locals who know and value the land.
With a concept based on sustainable vineyards, the Quinta is committed to ensuring the health of its vineyards, protecting soils and preserving water resources. The quality of the grapes is the result of continuous work throughout the year, culminating in a manual harvest. The vineyards are located between 50 and 200 meters in altitude, which positively influences the ripening of the grapes and contributes to fresh, balanced and aromatic wines.
The Mediterranean climate, moderated by the proximity of the Atlantic, ensures mild winters and hot summers, benefiting the grape varieties that need thermal relief. Sustainable viticulture is one of the pillars of production, balancing productivity and environmental preservation through the responsible use of natural resources, the protection of biodiversity, and the maintenance of soil health.
The terrains, predominantly clay-limestone, favor drainage and contribute to the complexity and structure of the wines. The integrated production adopted combines traditional and modern techniques to reduce environmental impact, prioritizing practices such as soil and water preservation, the promotion of biodiversity, and the constant monitoring of vineyards.
Sustainability, therefore, is a central principle at Quinta da Boa Esperança, reflecting the search for a balance between agricultural production and environmental conservation.
