Vineyards
Greve is the heart of Chianti, the mountainous region of central Tuscany. The vines are found on the steep slopes, resulting in wines from blue-grey quartzite sandstone, with layers of sand and limestone, grown according to the simple Guyot system, with a maximum of five to eight buds per vine.
Vinification
Gentle pressing of fermented grapes in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, alternating between low and medium temperatures (between 16°C and 24°C) for 10 days, with macro-oxygenation. Ageing of the wine in French oak barrels for 9 months and at least 5 months in the bottle before launch.
Tasting Notes
This reserve has a bright ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, aromas of cherries, red plums and currants are overlaid with notes of earth, rose petals and leather. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, showing excellent structure with firm and integrated tannins, and plenty of spices on the long finish.
