Magma is made exclusively with the Verdelho grape variety. The vineyards are planted in the curraletas dos Biscoitos, part of the landscape and heritage of the island of Terceira. The vines grow in volcanic soils, surrounded by magma rocks that protect them from the strong Atlantic winds, thus giving rise to unique and special wines.
Vinification
Manual harvesting for 20 kg wicker baskets and transported very quickly to the winery. Here a total destemming is done followed by a light pressing. After cold static decanting, fermentation begins, which lasts for 20 days. After this, the wine is left on fine lees in batonnâge for 5 months.
Tasting Notes
Austere, pure, fresh and mineral nose. Salty and tense mouth attack. Persistent and fresh mouth.
