Vineyards
Our grapes are located in one of the most fascinating areas of Alto Salento, between Sava and Manduria, in the heart of the production area of Primitivo di Manduria. The warmth of the sun and the proximity of the Ionian Sea are the most important factors for the production of Primitivo di Manduria. This land gives life to the typical shrubby vines, “albarello”, more than 30 years old, which give the wine a unique aromatic characteristic.
Vinification
Harvest lightly ripe grapes, destemming and crushing, maceration at controlled temperature for 10-12 days with regular pumping over. Decantation and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Refinement in American and French oak barrels over the next 12 months.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red with purple reflections on the edge. Intense bouquet with notes of cherries and blackberries, soaked in mint and tobacco, slightly spicy. The spice makes this wine sweet in the mouth, ending with notes of cocoa and coffee. Persistent wine that will continue to evolve over the next 10 years.
