Viticulture
This wine comes from just two vineyards, an almost equal split between the Awatere and Waihopai Valley plots. A control of the growth of the vines keeps our harvest levels low, which guarantees a beautiful selection of weight and concentration of flavor.
Vinification
With rain in February, warm weather and early flavor development, they harvested grapes at a slightly lower grade this year. Each block was harvested when they reached the maximum passion fruit characters and while the acidity was bright and crisp. The grapes were gently pressed before being fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts, while 4% was fermented with wild yeast in old French barrels.
Tasting Notes
Bursting with lemon, passion fruit, and ripe tropical fruits, tied with layers of fresh, green, and herbaceous notes. The palate features a beautiful concentration of fruit, balanced acidity and a smooth, dry finish. It goes well with seafood, seafood, salads, feta, goat cheese, fresh herbs, Vietnamese dishes, garlic prawns, and light Thai dishes.
