Tasting Notes
Clear and luminous, golden yellow colour. Aroma of nuts, spices and Toffee. Velvety, with notes of dried fruits and caramel. Pronounced intensity. Medium-sweet, rich on the palate with elegant acidity well balanced with sweetness, with an elegant and persistent finish. Aperitif or digestive; with dry or half-cured cheeses, pâtés and Portuguese conventual sweets.
Vinification
Manual harvesting. Fermentation with the addition of 77% wine brandy (from the Lourinhã Region ) in the middle of the fermentation process. Ageing in Portuguese and French oak barrels for an average period of 7 years.
Climate and Soil
Microclimate characterized by winters with average temperatures of 11.6⁰C and summers with average temperatures of 23.2⁰C. The average annual rainfall is 850 mm, with dry summers of less than 5.2 mm. Limestone-red Mediterranean soil.
