The Pinela white grape variety comes from the border area between Slovenia and Italy, near Nova Gorica (Gorizia). It was mentioned as early as 1324 in the “Catalogue of Grape Varieties of the Veneto Region “.
Vinification
The five-day fermentation takes place spontaneously with the vine’s natural yeasts and at an uncontrolled temperature. Miha Batic trusts nature, trusts wine and has the sensitivity and experience necessary for this natural process. Spontaneous fermentation is followed by two years of ageing in Slovenian oak barrels. The bottle is full at the new moon.
Tasting Notes
It presents fine aromas, the aroma of ripe fruits (peach, apricot), a subtle note of vanilla and sun-kissed grapes. It immediately warms your heart. The flavor is smooth, spicy, mineral, unique and with a wonderful resin note. Pinela perfectly reflects the terroir and winemaking art of the Batic family.
