Bical is an autochthonous Portuguese grape variety originating in the Bairrada region, but also widely used in the Dão. Known for its versatility, it is used in the production of still, sparkling and even fortified wines.

Its wines are known for their fresh and fruity aromas with notes of citrus and white-fleshed fruits. In the mouth, they can have a balanced acidity and a creamy texture. Wines with Bical pair well with seafood, grilled fish, soft cheeses and Mediterranean cuisine.

Some wines have excellent ageing potential. Over time, they can develop aromatic complexity and a greater depth of flavors, becoming true oenological gems.
